   From practice - for practice
The ACPlant Designer® is a completely again developed product, in which the experience from nine years software development as well as from many years plant planning flowed. It is developed with most modern software technologies and is more than only a good CAD package. Central element is a data and an object model server, which hold ready and administer an object model of the plant in the background. All modules of the ACPlant Designer® product family as well as merged third programs can constantly access in this model.
Carefully prepares
Beginning 1994 years was already begun with the Design and the first prototypes of a completely new product. The start of the actual development took place 1996. Thus into the conception still before the actual start of development several man-years one put, in order to be able to cover with the new product all aspects of the large range of the equipment construction. On the CEBIT ' 98 this new product was presented to the public for the first time.

Completely object-oriented
The plant which can be planned is represented by an object model. All elements of the material plant (pipes, armatures, apparatuses etc..) as well as their relevant characteristics (dimensions, operating temperature, pressure etc..) by the object model is seized, whereby as far as possible directly objects from the object world are assigned to elements from the material world. For example armature in the object model for each armature into the material plants " " an object, which has the necessary characteristics administered and also necessary intelligence, exists. With the Inspector at any time an access is also possible from the CAD on all data available in the object model. An extension of the intelligent behavior is from (in addition authorized) the user at any time and easily possible.
Independently
It is made possible by a sophisticated Software­technologie, the object model not only on object-oriented to illustrate but also on arbitrary relational data bases and besides still data bases already existing and would exist into the object model with to include. That means it that also computation programs or commercial data bases can be illustrated directly in the object and thus by all users with be used. An advantage of the fact is that all data belonging to to the project can be held by all departments on the current in each case conditions. A further advantage of data base independence is itself the investment protection of our customers resulting in from it.

Fast
As restrictions in the 3D range is to be seen the performance of the system with large projects. Thus a good 3D-Performance was specified from the beginning as a Design goal and also reached.
Simple one and intuitively
Also someone, which is not familiar with the underlying CAD system, can immediately draw with ACFlow 2D a pattern, without having to use special AutoCAD ® instructions. The operation is to the conventions of the used graphic user interface (at present: Microsoft Windows ®) ajar (e.g. context menu on right mouse button). A permanent feedback to the user simplifies the handling.
CAD independently
By a special software Layertechnik and by so-called manager objects an independence from the underlying CAD package is reached. Is natural first supported CAD package AutoCAD ®, since it represents the standard within PC-cad the range. Other packages can and will if necessary follow.
Open structure
In and binding from programs already existing and their user data are simply possible. It makes little sense for us to invent the wheel again and to develop e.g. its own tubing stress computation program. Further arbitrary documents can be assigned e.g. Excel ® computations or diagrams to each element in the plant.
